Wild Rose Hips 10"x12"

This is an original oil painting, signed by Laurel. It is framed in a built-from-scratch wooden frame, painted umber over red undertones with notches, and a hand-guilded 18k gold leaf lip. 

I painted this plein air in Corvallis in a field I passed through when I took my daily walk. This enormous, free-standing, wild rose bush in the center of the field caught my eye every spring, covered with pink blossoms, and even more every fall, as it was covered with bright orange rosehips. I zoomed in on a high branch in this painting, so I could capture the free spirit of the growth and the colorful rose hips on the vine.
