This is an original oil painting on canvas panel, signed by Laurel. It is framed in a scratch-build wood frame, hand-guilded with gold-metal leaf, with a soft patina and a matte varnish. 

I painted this painting plein air, in the midst of a giant dahlia field in Corvallis, Oregon. I was surrounded by every color of dahlia one could imagine, most of them almost as tall as me. I painted in this field often, and this is one of my favorite paintings from Carol's lovely garden.
